Winter Trail Reports for Langlade County

Snowmobile Trail Report

Trail Update as of January 23, 2026

Snowmobile trail conditions vary across Langlade County based on snow depth and base thickness. The warm weather in mid-January has created icy conditions across portions of the trail system.

Zone B trails are currently in excellent shape overall, with a solid base and some loose corners. Zone A trails may be icier in spots, with possible drifting in open areas.

Ride with caution, adjust your speed for changing conditions, and enjoy the trails responsibly.

Trail update as of January 16, 2026

Snowmobilers, get ready. Zone B, the Southern Zone of the Langlade County Snowmobile Trail System, including state-funded trails, is scheduled to open Friday, January 16, at 12:00 pm noon. Fresh winter fun is officially back on the map, and the trails are ready to welcome riders.

A few important reminders before you head out. ATVs are not permitted on snowmobile trails until ten days after the snowmobile trails open and are not allowed when temperatures rise above 28° F. ATVs will be authorized to use snowmobile trails in Zone B beginning January 26, 2026. UTVs are not allowed on the Langlade County snowmobile trail system at any time due to machine width and weight.

Plan, ride smart, and support our local snowmobile clubs and trail sponsors who make these trails possible.

Trail Update as of January 13, 2026

By confirmation of the Langlade County Snow Council, Zone A North Forest Zone of the Langlade County Snowmobile Trail System, including all state-funded trails, is scheduled to reopen on Wednesday, January 14, at 12:00 pm noon. In addition, the trail segment between intersections 41A and 42B in Zone B will be open to snowmobile traffic at that time.

ATVs are not permitted on snowmobile trails until 10 days after the official opening and only when temperatures are below 28°F. ATV use on snowmobile trails will be authorized beginning January 24, 2026, provided conditions allow. UTVs are not permitted on the Langlade County Snowmobile Trail System at any time due to machine width and weight.

All lake trails throughout Langlade County are currently considered unsafe and should not be used until they are clearly marked and opened by a local snowmobile club.

Riders are encouraged to use caution, stay on marked trails, and respect posted conditions. Please take time to thank and support the local snowmobile clubs and their business sponsors, whose dedication and volunteer efforts make this trail system possible.

Please ride responsibly, respect posted signage, and thank you to our snowmobile clubs for preparing the trails.

A big thank you to our Langlade County Snowmobile Clubs for the time, effort, and dedication that make this incredible trail system possible.

Annual passes are available for $30 per year for adults and may be purchased at the Forestry, Parks, and Recreation Office at 1633 Neva Road in Antigo, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
